How to Use LLMs for Go to Market Strategy
Large language models can dramatically accelerate go to market work.
But speed alone does not create better marketing.
In this episode of Authority Architects by 7 Wonders, Paul Traficanti, founder turned operator and product and growth leader at Nextworld, explains how teams can use LLMs to improve research, sales preparation, and marketing without losing the human judgment that makes creative work effective.
LLMs Can Compress Hours of Research
One of the most powerful applications Paul sees is research.
At Nextworld, his team uses tools built around Claude to gather intelligence before sales conversations.
The system can look across sources such as:
Job postings
LinkedIn profiles
Vendor case studies
SEC filings
Review sites
It can then identify signals about the systems a company may already be using, such as ERP or CRM platforms.
Historically, a salesperson might have needed to perform that research manually before every call.
LLMs can compress much of that work into minutes.
That gives sales teams more context without requiring them to spend enormous amounts of time gathering it.
Research Can Be Automated. Taste Cannot.
Paul makes an important distinction between analytical work and creative judgment.
LLMs are powerful research tools.
But marketing still comes down to taste.
As more companies use AI to write website copy, emails, and marketing materials, Paul has noticed messaging beginning to sound increasingly similar.
The danger is not necessarily that AI creates bad work.
It is that AI can create average work very easily.
And most brands are not trying to be average.
Human Judgment Creates Differentiation
Paul argues that marketers should continue leaning into the aspects of creativity that require human judgment.
An LLM can suggest a direction.
A human still needs to decide whether that direction is interesting, relevant, distinctive, or worth pursuing.
The same principle applies to video.
AI can help with research, drafts, workflows, and production tasks. But the final decisions about storytelling, pacing, visual style, performance, and emotional impact require taste.
That is one reason 7 Wonders treats technology as part of the creative process rather than a replacement for it.
Context Determines the Quality of the Output
The quality of an LLM response depends heavily on the context it receives.
A person with deep experience in a subject can usually get much stronger results from AI than someone approaching the same topic without expertise.
Paul uses the example of a rocket scientist using an LLM to design a rocket compared with someone with no aerospace experience.
Both have access to the same technology.
They will not necessarily produce the same result.
Expertise allows people to recognize tradeoffs, evaluate responses, ask better questions, and know when the model is wrong.
Use AI for Leverage, Not Autopilot
The opportunity with LLMs is not to outsource judgment.
It is to remove repetitive work and give skilled people more leverage.
Use AI to gather research.
Use it to surface information.
Use it to accelerate parts of the process.
Then apply human expertise and taste to create something that actually stands out.
